HAT swith and elevator trim

Post by wrap23 » Fri May 19, 2017 2:48 am

Just got a like new G940 (amazing actually in original packaging :D ) Also purchased FSUIPC. I'm using P3D. I want to use HAT switch for trim. Reading your documentation, I've NOT assigned elevator trim commands via FSUIPC. I've assigned the elevator trim via Profile Manager.

[General]
TrimClickAmount=100
TrimIndicator=0
PauseOnTaskSwitch=0
dwStartDelay=1
JoystickTrimUp=Rev1:POV:Logitech G940 Joystick:{E2DCACE0-376F-11E7-8005-444553540000}:0:18000
JoystickTrimDown=Rev1:POV:Logitech G940 Joystick:{E2DCACE0-376F-11E7-8005-444553540000}:0:0
PMWndPos=1519,451
DemoAreaInfo=1

Here is the thing...under FSUIPC Customers section of Documentation, you say I must assign trim normally in FSX as well as profile manager so FS Force can intercept the trim commands. Unfortunately P3D only sees HAT1, not all the 8 positions like Profile Manager and FSUIPC. Therefore, I can only assign HAT1 to either elevator up or elevator down. In order for trim to work, I can't assign it in P3D settings. It seems to work correctly without P3D assignments, but your documentation indicates I should have it assigned both in P3D and Profile Manager.

Is there a way to assign the individual HAT positions in P3D, through a config file for instance?

Thanks again for all the support!

Hi Don,

The documentation is slightly inaccurate there ... you don't actually have to program the trim commands in P3D, although it does no harm. Just program the commands in Profile Manager and you'll be fine. When you're in P3D just verify that the FS Force trim gauge pops up when you make trim changes.
