FSForce.exe fails to start

Just installed on a Windows 10 machine running FSX SE. The profile manager works fine, dll loads, but every time I run FSForce.exe a dialog pops up stating that Directx initialisation failed. Tried reinstalling but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

What type of joystick / yoke are you using? One common cause of that error message is that you do not have a FF joystick attached to your system.
