What will the .60 beta have?

Post by FaxCap » Mon Dec 15, 2003 5:57 am

Hi Russ.

What are you working on for the .60 beta? And thinking ahead about
what for the .70?

Any reorts of Braking problems? I had one non-repeatable run in with
the brakes. Applied the brakes on a landing in the stock M$ 737 and
when I let my finger off the trigger (brake) the brakes stayed on for a
good 10 seconds then released by themselves. Like I said....never been
able to repeat it.

Could my pc's CPU have been "busy" with something else and ran out of
clock cycles? No other apps were running at the time.

Well I'm basically trying to stabilize things now ... I've learned its not a good idea to start adding a bunch of features in a beta test period, it kind of defeats the purpose of the beta. Basically trying to get the registration mechanisms all in place and the web site, etc, ... getting it ready for release. Actually, there is one feature I am adding, which is hot key assignments to reload the profile and re-initialize FS Force while in flight.

That kind of thing doesn't surprise me ... I've noticed DirectX / FF Joysticks doesn't seem to be a very "mature" technology. If you open up the error log (logfile.txt), you'll often see intermitent errors. Basically what's happening is my software is issuing commands to DirectX to start or stop an effect, and for some reason it says "sorry, can't do it", so the next time around the timer loop you try it again, and then it goes! Go figure. :?:
