FSForce demo crashes FS9

Hi

I'm experimenting with a Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP racing wheel that I'm intending to convert into a FF flight yoke if I can.

I'm currently trying to run the demo version of FSForce 1, but can't get either the Profile Manager or the DLL to run with FS9 without crashing. I have disabled FS9 forces.

Here's the log from trying to start Profile Manager
Starting Profile Manager Fri Dec 30 19:11:04 2011

MechanicalEffects.Init1 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
MechanicalEffects.Init2 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
CorneringEffect.Init : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
LandingBump.Init1 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
LandingBump.Init2 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
And here's the log from trying to run FS9
Starting FS Force DLL Fri Dec 30 19:12:30 2011

MechanicalEffects.Init1 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
MechanicalEffects.Init2 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
CorneringEffect.Init : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
LandingBump.Init1 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
LandingBump.Init2 : DIERR_INVALIDPARAM
Could it be that my wheel is not compatible with FSForce, even though it recognises it? Or does it look like a conflict with a driver? Any help appreciated, as the software looks great and just what I need if I can get it to work!

Thanks

Download and try out the diagnostic program, and post the contents of the diagnostic window. I'm guessing that your FF wheel does not support the full range of force feedback effects, and therefore will not be compatible with FS Force.

Thanks for the quick reply Russ...

I tried that earlier. The program lists all the functions that are supported with this device, but then tells me it may not support some of them.
Enumerated Joystick : Logitech WingMan Formula Force GP USB
Supported Effects :
- Constant
- Ramp Force
- Square Wave
- Sine Wave
- Triangle Wave
- Sawtooth Up Wave
- Sawtooth Down Wave
- Spring
- Damper
- Inertia
- Friction
- CustomForce

Hopefully I can get this device working. Could I eliminate the non-supported functions and get this device working with your software?

Best wishes

The first list of "supported effects" is what the wheel is self-reporting that it supports. But then when the diagnostic program tries to create those effects, the errors come up. It's probably because a wheel only has one axis of motion, whereas a joystick has two.

OK, so it doesn't look like it's going to work then... That's a shame.

Thanks for the assistance
