Ok....it's Installed and running!
Hi Boss
Installation went fine.....looked through the Profile Manager but left
everything default to start. Load FS9.....no feedback....what the h*ll.
Back to Settings>Joystick Forces.....box now unchecked....no feedback.
Checked the box.....load a flight.....Feedback now working.
I didn't uncheck that box???? Did the install routine do that?
Tweak one of the profiles....crank the forces up.....load flight....almost
break my wrist!
Wow....now THAT is feedback!
Note to self.....turn the forces down on that profile!

Note that under "Settings>Joystick Forces", everything should be unchecked.
And yes, the install routine did that.

Try to see if you can get some forces in the Profile Manager. Shut down MSFS, start up Profile Manager, go to the second page and select a profile ("Light GA" for example). Click on Edit Profile, and throttle up the Virtual Aircraft. You should get some pavement grooves and centering forces. If not, there is a problem.

Try going into Control Panel > Game Controllers > Properties. Usually there is a page there to test the forces on your joystick. You click different buttons and it plays various sample forces. Do you get forces there? Sometimes I've seen that "unstick" a situation like this.
You're running W2K, right? I haven't tested FS Force under that OS. Hope there's not a problem.
I can see now I need to add a trouble-shooting section to the documentation.

Nope....not under W2K & XP as far as I know. You can "set" the feedbackRussDirks wrote:Try going into Control Panel > Game Controllers > Properties. Usually there is a page there to test the forces on your joystick.
levels and Return to Centre levels plus the button assignments. Everything
looks normal....stick movement shows....throttle movement shows and
also the rudder twist shows....stick is working.

As it stands right now the only time I got FF working was when I was
already in FS9 and I enabled FF by checking the box. At that point I had
HUGE amounts of FF.
I shut FS9 down and when I restarted it I got the warning box about
having to disable FF in the Settings.
The only thing that works in the Virtual Aircraft is the throttle. I have yet
to feel FF in any part of the Virtual Aircraft.
The trim worked for me although I think the Trim Rate should be at least
25% higher in Default. I do get the pop-up trim box and can't imagine
using the FS Force trim without it as I am so used to watching the Trim
Wheel movement to help me judge where I am.
The Basics are there, Russ....I can see the potential after that one flight.
Funny thing was....my M$ FF2 did some squeaking...actual audible sounds?!
