Microsoft Sidewinder 2

Post by gderreck » Fri Feb 10, 2012 2:16 am

I noticed a Sidewinder 2 with the red trigger on ebay. I also have read on another forum that there are individuals using the joystick on windows 7 64 bit with FSX. In the absence of any driver support from Microsoft, they are generally using FSUIPC for assignment and FSForce for force feedback.

Are you/have you used the Sidewinder 2? Is it functional on windows 6 64 bit?

I am asking you, as I would imagine that throughout the life of FSForce, you have used and tested just about everything on the market on every platform.

Thanks in advance for the reply.

I have a Sidewinder 2 with a grey trigger, and it works fine under Win7/64bit. No special drivers required, and I don't need FSUIPC. I'm not sure what might be different about the red trigger version.

do you consider the sidewinder to be superior to the g940? i realize much of this could be considered to be subjective, but i value your opinion

Yes, I prefer the Sidewinder. The G940 has overall stronger forces, but the Sidewinder has a quality, precision and smoothness to its forces that surpass the G940.
