BTW, I realised that 'reset FS-Force' (or re-start, I forget) resets the FSF trim and can be mapped to a button.MarkH wrote:I have not found a way to reset the FSF trim to 0

Re: elevator responses
My observations have been, that when I want to change altitudes, or apply a small amount of back pressure when I bank, I feel the elevator response is much more drastic than in a real c172 when I am trimmed and my yoke is not at neutral Not sure if the obvious question has been asked - if you are u...

Re: elevator responses
Russ, I am wondering if this is due to FSX managing the pitch axis in a non-linear way. In other words, exactly like the problem you have tackled with aileron re-mapping, but on the pitch axis. I understood that FSX did this for all analog axes. I tried checking this out by loading up the default C1...

Problem setting trim (and other) buttons from GUI
The new feature for setting the buttons used to operate trim and other functions from the GUI does not work for me. When I click in the box for the function I want to set (Trim UP, let's say) it appears to work on the assumption that all joystick buttons are UP (i.e. no button is being pressed). It ...

Re: 2.9 and multiple controllers
It's not as sophisticated as I'd like it to be. It simply uses the "display name" of the controller, and that is because of a "controller order" issues that came up in P3Dv3.1, which LM tried to fix in 3.2 with a new SimConnect function. But the new function also only used the display name. I have ...

2.9 and multiple controllers
Thanks for 2.9, some welcome changes in there. I have not installed yet because I read the bit that said 'controllers are now referenced by name' . I just wanted to ask how sophisticated is this? I ask because other apps have problems with multiple devices having the same name. For example, I have s...

Reset Trim and no SHIFT key?
I have not found a way to reset the FSF trim to 0. Sometimes it would be convenient to do this with a button. Is there way that I have missed? I can see Lvars called FSForceTrimType and FSForceTrimValue but poking values into them doesn't seem to have any effect. On a related note, it is very inconv...

Re: Aileron re-mapping ignores the NULL zone
Okay thank Russ, I never tried that. I will report backRussDirks wrote:FSX doesn't write the new value to Standard.xml until you exit FSX, so FS Force has no choice but to continue using the old value until you exit and restart FSX.

You are right (of course). Thanks!

Aileron re-mapping ignores the NULL zone
I have noticed that with aileron re-mapping on, the aileron NULL zone set in the FSX controls dialog is ignored. (I am guessing this is an unintended consequence of you somehow bypassing the FSX aileron calibration, as I have also noticed that with aileron re-mapping on, I still have aileron control...

Re: FSF Trim vs. FSX trim - help me understand!
The documentation doesn't make it clear, and I'm not sure if I've ever tried it, but looking at my programming code, it should be possible to assign both of those functions to controller buttons. Awesome! I just tried this and it works: ReInit=Joystick:1:Button:20 Restart=Joystick:1:Button:22 [P.S....

Re: AP Follow often causes loss of control on disconnect
Yes, I was doing this. I have changed the elevator axis to be controlled by FSX and that seems to have sorted the problem.RussDirks wrote:Are you using FSUIPC for your elevator & aileron assignments?
Thanks.

FSF Trim vs. FSX trim - help me understand!
I am happily flying with FSF and an Iris yoke, but I am still a bit puzzled by the interaction of FSX and FSF trim systems. Why do we need access to the FSX trim at all? I have noticed that it does affect the aircraft, so if I dial in full back trim (FSX) my FSF neutral trim position (yoke centred, ...

AP Follow often causes loss of control on disconnect
Iris Dragonfly yoke / FSX. AP follow appears to work. The 'yoke offset' issue occurs as described and is usually small, fixed with a yoke reset' button I have mapped. BUT often when I switch the AP off I have a very large forward trim (e.g. -99) and the aircraft immediately nose-dives. This happens ...
